Why this work is important

Wellbeing

Research indicates that integrating structured wellbeing models into filmmaking can improve performance, creativity, collaboration, and inclusive working practices across all departments.

In practice, this supports healthier, more effective working environments for everyone involved in production—from production assistants through to cast, heads of department, and producers.

In classes and supervision sessions, Carrie Day introduces the framework used on set and supports directors and producers in implementing it as a clear production structure. Sessions combine practical application, group discussion, and live exercises to embed the approach in real production contexts.

Gestalt Constellation

The integration of Gestalt and constellation methodologies into script and development work offers a structured way of exploring narrative, character dynamics, and thematic relationships.

This approach can deepen both performance work and the wider production environment, supporting more responsive interaction between cast, material, and setting.

Workshops and longer courses give participants hands-on experience of the method, exploring how it can inform directing, performance, and story development. The training also introduces ways to apply the methodology within directing practice, strengthening both craft process and on-screen result.
