About Us

We are Goat & Drum, an independent film production company based in Glasgow.

Our purpose is to deliver high-quality, responsibly produced work, with a focus on clear process and strong on-set culture. Our unique approach incorporates a structured, pluralistic support model for cast and crew, designed to enhance communication, performance, and efficiency. The directing style is performance-led and visually focused, drawing on Meisner-based techniques and established actor-centred methodologies.

We adhere to Creative Scotland’s Sustainability in Screen guidelines, embedding practical environmental standards across our productions. Alongside this, we apply a Care in Screen framework to maintain professional, well-managed working conditions that support the welfare and performance of all collaborators.

Our Name

The name Goat & Drum reflects a set of creative influences that shape the company’s approach to storytelling.

“Goat” references Goat Fell on the Isle of Arran, a landscape that informed the company’s early development and continues to influence its visual identity. It speaks to a connection with place, scale, and atmosphere—elements that underpin the company’s approach to cinematic world-building.

“Drum” suggests rhythm, pulse, and transformation. It reflects how we approach pacing, performance, and editorial flow, while also pointing to storytelling as a process that uncovers and activates deeper themes. As a creative principle, it represents the drive that carries a project forward—structuring energy, shaping tone, and opening space for stories that resonate beyond the surface.

Together, the name signals a filmmaking approach that balances craft with instinct, combining a strong visual language with a sensitivity to both narrative precision and the more intangible forces that give stories their impact.
